Terry Porter is an AV rated lawyer with over 36 years litigation experience. Terry Porter is a
Supreme Court Certified Civil Mediator and a Florida State qualified arbitrator. He is also
certified as a mediator by the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
After serving four years in the United States Navy, Terry moved to Port Charlotte in 1976
where he practiced general civil litigation.  In 1977 he moved to Fort Myers and joined the law
firm of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt where he practiced until January 2009. For over
thirty three years he has practiced civil and personal injury litigation, including a wide variety
of commercial litigation and all aspects of construction litigation. Since becoming certified as a
civil mediator in 1997, Terry has developed a solid reputation for his skills as a neutral and
regularly accepts mediation and arbitration referrals throughout the State of Florida. Terry is
also a frequent lecturer at seminars on trial practice. He is a former member and chairman of the
Twentieth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee for The Florida Bar.
